Parliamentary Procedure

Have you ever sat through formal proceedings at a meeting or convention and wondered what a “point of order” is?  If so, this workshop is for you!  Come and learn how to participate better in union meetings and conventions.

SLS - Note Taking

Why do I have to take notes? What kind of notes should I take? What happens to my notes if a grievance goes to arbitration? Are my notes private? Is it better to take notes on a computer or by hand? What happens to the notes I take when the case is finished? This module answers important questions about notes, and provides practice time to work on note taking skills.

In response to the health concerns of our members and staff, CUPE has implemented a Scent-Free Policy at all of our workshops.  Scented products such as hair spray, perfume and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches.  Facilitators and participants are asked to refrain from using scented products while attending our workshops and meetings.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Please provide in writing by the registration deadline to Collette Calvelli (ccalvelli@cupe.ca) your cancellation request. Please ensure you provide your local number, address and contact numbers.

Note: This workshop is subject to cancellation due to low registration or other reasons.
