The Canadian Home Care Human Resource Study has released a report which calls for increased funding to home care, and improvements in wages, benefits, and pensions for home care workers. The study, in which CUPE is a partner, contains the most detailed information ever collected on human resource issues in home care in Canada.

The synthesis report summarizes findings which will be released later in a larger technical report. The synthesis report is also available in french.
The report has ten recommendations including:
- re-examine the organization and funding of the sector.
- promote the provision of appropriate compensation(wages and benefits, including pensions) for people providing home care.
- improve working conditions for formal and informal caregivers.
