“We welcome Mr. van der Werff to his new position and wish him success. As flight attendants, we are the face of this company, and one of its largest workforces representing over 10,000 employees.
“It is no secret that our company’s previous CEO was wholly unconcerned with the issues affecting flight attendants, and colluded with the federal government to have our Charter rights taken away.
“We are optimistic about the opportunity for a fresh approach with Mr. van der Werff. Air Canada is a highly successful and profitable airline, and flight attendants expect and deserve a CEO who understands that success depends on respecting the people who keep the airline flying every day.”
