Long-term care workers from Melville Lodge and Shoreham Village, represented by CUPE 3840 and 3454 respectively, are poised to hit picket lines May 7 and 8 at 7 am, joining 30 other homes already on strike province wide.
“This government clearly thinks that ignoring us will force us to give up and go back to work,” said CUPE Long-Term and Community Care Committee Chair Christa Sweeney, “but the opposite is true. We’re not backing down until the government comes back to the table to negotiate a deal that works for everyone.”
Melville Lodge will begin picketing on May 7 at 50 Shoreham Lane, Halifax, NS.
Shoreham Village will open their pickets on May 8 at 50 Shoreham Village Cresent, Chester, NS.
