New contract reached between CUPE and Breton Ability Centre

Sydney – A new union contract has been reached between CUPE Local 3513 and Breton Ability Centre in Sydney.

CUPE National Representative Kathy MacLeod says, “The deal was passed by 98% in a ratification vote.”



Local president Karen McMullin says, “With those numbers, obviously the members were very pleased with the deal we were able to negotiate.”



Highlights of the deal include:



• Creation of nineteen full-time positions

• Casual employees receive six additional holidays, the same number of holidays as permanent employees



Local 3513 represents 120 members at the centre.
