CUPE National President Mark Hancock and Secretary-Treasurer Charles Fleury have issued certificates of appreciation to two CUPE Local 416 members in recognition of their courageous actions following a hydro accident.

City of Toronto Parks workers Thomas Stateski and Douglas Jamieson were on the job October 28, 2020 when they witnessed an explosion in a hydro field. They immediately rushed to the scene, providing first aid to a badly injured worker until emergency responders arrived.

CUPE commends the bravery and kindness demonstrated by these members, who went above and beyond the call of duty to assist a worker in need.
