The Nova Scotia Division elected a new president and executive officers at its annual convention in Sydney.

Betty Jean Sutherland, President of CUPE 2330, is the first woman to be elected Division President in Nova Scotia. Sutherland has been active in health and safety issues and as a member of the Provincial Bargaining Committee for nursing home employees.

Danny Cavanagh of CUPE 734 was elected Vice-President, Darrell Gorman of CUPE 1416 as Secretary-Treasurer and Mike MacNeil of CUPE 1259 as Recording Secretary.
