Cancelled: Health and Safety Series

May 2 - 3, 2020 | CUPE Yarmouth Area Office, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia | English
These series of workshops are designed to provide health and safety basics and develop core skills, support participants to think about the different ways health and safety connects to human rights in our union and our community, and to deal with specific workplace hazards and methods for removing them from the workplace.

Cancelled: Steward Learning Series Workshop

May 9 - 10, 2020 | CUPE Atlantic Regional Office, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia | English
Before you start the Steward Learning series, you must complete the Introduction to Stewarding (9 hour) workshop. After that, you can start taking modules in the Steward Learning Series. All the modules are 3 hours. Please remember to bring your Stewarding handbook and Steward Learning passport.

What does a CUPE steward do? If you are a new steward and want to learn how to help CUPE members solve workplace problems, this introductory workshop is for you!
In this workshop, you will learn:
• investigating workplace problems;
• filing a grievance;
• meeting with management;
• dealing with workplace complaints.

NOTE: Participants should bring a copy of their collective agreement to the workshop.
