Claude Dauphin has told a Montra006c Public Transit board meeting that public-private partnerships are not in the cards.

The president of the STM was responding to questins from CUPE and other union members who had attended the public meeting.

It’s big news and it effectively seals the fate of P3s in public transit in the Montra006c region.

“For months we’ve been campaigning with the public and decision makers to show them they stand to gain nothing from P3s,” said CUPE 1983 president Claude Benot002e

Benot002c whose local represent bus drivers and metro operators, calls the announcement a victory for transit users and tax payers.

“We hope now that the other public transit authorities will follow the STM’s example and not be seduced by the illusions of PPPs,” he added.
