New Brunswick Premier Bernard Lord’s plan to contract out food, laundry and cleaning services shows his ignorance of the health care system, David Rouse says.

The President of New Brunswick’s Council of Hospital Unions says the Premier doesn’t understand what’s going on in hospitals.

“Clean, well maintained hospitals and well fed patients are essential to the health of the public health care system,” Rouse said.

“For the Premier of this province to say that he won’t privatize doctors, nurses but that he is willing to privatize, contract out or outsource the rest shows that he doesn’t know much about what makes health care work,” said Rouse.
