I was sad to learn that Sister Donalda has passed away. Not only CUPE but also PSI has lost a strong activist. We will in upcoming meetings hold a minute of silence in respect and acknowledgement of Sister Donalda’s active role in the international trade union movement. On behalf of PSI, I send you our sincere condolences. We would appreciate it if you could pass on our message of condolences to her family.

I just learned of the passing of our sister, Donalda, CUPE leader and a sister of the PSI movement. I would like you to share, sensitively, our condolences to our sister’s family and the entire CUPE family. I have been with Donalda on several occasions, including on the PSI World Women’s Committee and at two CUPE conventions. I always admired her gentle way and commitment to the union movement, especially her activism for our issues.

Acabo de saber do falecimento da companheira Donalda, dirigente da CUPE e companheira de militância na ISP. Quero por gentileza, que retransmita as nossas condolências à família da companheira e a toda família Cupe. Estive com Donalda em algumas ocasiões no Comitê Mundial de Mulheres e também nos dois Congressos da CUPE, e sempre admirei a sua doçura e comprometimento com o movimento sindical em especial a sua militância nas questões de gênero.
