The Coquitlam Public Library (CPL) has decided to implement a restructuring plan that will create six new management positions at an estimated cost of $600,000. This represents an increase of 150 percent in management positions, and would mean that CPL would have a significantly larger and costlier management structure than other public libraries in the lower mainland

We are very concerned because, so far, CPL has refused to disclose where the money is coming from to fund these new positions and they also won’t tell us if this change will affect frontline staff or change how services are delivered to the public.

We don’t believe that this restructuring plan is the best use of the limited funding available for this important community service.
