A coalition of water activists is demanding more be done to make the right to water and sanitation services a reality for everyone on the planet.

The call came on the second anniversary of the United Nations’ formal recognition of the human right to water and sanitation.

The coalition is “deeply concerned to see little progress being made towards the full implementation of this right as governments aggressively pursue false solutions to the environmental and economic crises that will only deepen the water injustices that our organizations and communities have been fighting for decades”.

Over the past year, the water activists have compiled a series of reports on key barriers to making the right to water a reality in many countries.
