National Convention is a great opportunity to feature the excellent communications work that locals, councils and divisions have done since the previous convention. CUPE National gives accolades for the best newsletters, websites, and digital photography through the CUPE Communications Awards. Winners in each of the three media formats will receive awards at National Convention in Vancouver on November 1, 2011.

Entry deadline is Friday, July 29 and the entry form with all details can be found here.

Newsletters are judged based on written and graphic content. They must be published for a CUPE audience only. Awards are given for locals with membership of fewer than 300; 300 – 1,000; 1,000 – 3,000; and more than 3,000.  To enter, mail in three different issues of your CUPE newsletter with the completed entry form.

Websites are judged in three categories: best content, best design, and best overall.  Enter as many categories as apply to your website. Enter online and provide your URL, name of web editor and name of web designer.

Photographs are a great way to tell your story. Digital photography is open to CUPE members only.  Photos must be of CUPE members, either at work or in the community. Photos must be entered online using this easy-to-use online entry form. This category was not awarded last year, so this is a call to all CUPE members to get those photos in.

Remember, you can’t win it if you’re not in it!  Best of luck to all entrants.
