Quebec post-secondary sector workers gave their support to the provinces striking students at their convention near Sherbrooke this week.

University sector council chair Lucie Levasseur denounced the Jean Charest governments decision to cut $103 million from the student grant program.

We opposed that decision last year and we support the striking students with all our hearts as they try to get back what the government took from them, she said.

CUPE represents about 9,000 workers in Quebecs universities.
