On the eve of a conference on P3s in health care, CUPE Québec joined with the FTQ and other health care sector unions to set the record straight and urge the provincial government not to go down that road.

National Secretary Treasurer Claude Généreux, as well as FTQ General Secretary René Roy and SEIU representative Gina Glantz urged the Charest government to steer clear of the P3 potholes.

“The only 'public' in public private partnerships is the name, and the risk,” said Roy.

“Treasury board chair Monique Jérôme-Forget talks about the transparency and accountability of the private sector in these sorts of projects,” said Généreux. “But it's been very difficult to get any information about these projects, all on the pretext that the information is a trade secret.”
