A tax system that required businesses that benefit from universities to pay a larger share of the cost of post-secondary education would go a long way to improving the quality of education in Qub0065c, CUPE says in a brief to a provincial government commission on education.

Education is an essential part of citizenship, and corporations whose profits flow directly from their use of educated employees and university research should play their part in funding the system, the brief argues.
