The 50th annual CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador Convention will take place from May 6th to 8th, 2024 at the Delta Hotel’s Conference Centre in St. John’s. CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador will welcome delegates from across the province for this milestone convention to provide members with the opportunity to have their voice heard in their union. The theme of this convention, “Why Politics Matter,” will encourage and educate members on how they can get involved in their community. They will also discuss common issues, share success stories, vote on constitutional amendments, and elect new officers.

This year, CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador will elect, for the first time ever, two new diversity executive members and a young worker, following the directive of the members who voted overwhelmingly in favour of adding these positions last convention. Once elected, these members will bring a much-anticipated new perspective to the executive board.
