This year CUPE is proudly supporting World Pride, a global event hosted in Toronto June 22-29. It’s the fourth event of its kind, and the first time it’s been hosted by a North American city.

CUPE is a sponsor at the World Pride Human Rights Conference, and sending a delegation of LGBTTI members to showcase our achievements in advancing LGBTTI rights.

CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn will moderate a panel on the labour movement’s involvement in the pursuit of LGBTTI rights. CUPE National President Paul Moist will join Hahn for the parade on Sunday, June 29 where CUPE will show off an impressive float and march with the labour contingent organized by the Canadian Labour Congress.

Through our Pink Triangle Committee and other activists, working with coalition partners, CUPE has helped make strides for LGBTTI rights in Canada and internationally.

During Pride season, we celebrate our gains and recommit to fighting homophobia and transphobia in our workplaces and our communities.
