CUPE 1760 and United Way British Columbia (UWBC) have ratified a new collective agreement - the first since United Way of the Lower Mainland amalgamated last year with five other United Way entities.
This four-and-a-half-year agreement includes two years of retroactive wage increases, recognition of the current cost of living and several improvements important to the parties – including improving fairness, diversity, equity, and inclusion terms in the collective agreement, and increasing benefits coverage for those paramedical services which haven’t been adjusted in many years.
The new terms of the collective agreement come into effect immediately and members will start to receive their retroactive wage payments soon.
CUPE 1760 represents approximately 110 employees of United Way British Columbia working with communities in B.C.’s Interior, Lower Mainland, Central and Northern Vancouver Island.
