Each National Convention, CUPE’s National Communications branch recognizes the work of union members who excel at communicating with their membership.

If your local, council or division has a website or puts out a newsletter, enter the national communications awards.

There is also an award for the best digital photograph showing CUPE members at work or active in their community.

French and English language newsletters are judged separately. There are four categories based on the membership numbers of the local, council or division making the submission. Each newsletter submission must include a completed entry form along with three different issues of the entrant’s newsletter.

The website awards have four categories: best content, best design, best overall French language and best overall English language. Website and digital photograph entries must use online forms.

Entry forms, detailing the award criteria, went out in the April national convention mailing to all CUPE locals or download the entry form.

Winners will receive an award certificate, a special gift and will be recognized at the upcoming CUPE National Convention in Montreal in October.

Enter soon. Deadline is June 30, 2009.
