CUPE 389 members and the North Vancouver City Library have ratified a new three-year agreement that provides improved working conditions for CUPE members and enhanced library services for the community.
“This round of negotiations, both the union and management engaged in open discussions. This respectful and collaborative approach allowed us to address concerns, find common ground, and work together to implement solutions,” said CUPE 389 President Yvette Mercier.
The three-year deal provides wage increases of 3% in 2022, 4.5% in 2023 and 4% in 2024. It also includes a one-time lump sum inflationary support payment of 3.5% plus 1.0%, based on 2022 wages.
Other key improvements include new funding for mental health services as well as increases to employer paid dental premiums and bereavement leave.
“CUPE 389 members are proud to provide library services in the City of North and we look forward to continuing to work with the library to serve the community,” adds Mercier.
