VICTORIA— B.C.’s capital is this year’s location for an annual celebration of multicultural diversity featuring colourful dance, vibrant music and delicious food from around the world. It takes place on Sunday at the Fernwood Community Centre.

Include Me!” is a combination of multicultural entertainment and community awareness-building about the need to fight racism and celebrate diversity in the community. The event is free and everyone is welcome. It is co-sponsored by the B.C. division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees and its Committee Against Racism and Discrimination, and by the CUPE UVic human rights committee.

This year’s event features the Songhees Dancers, Uminari Taiko Japanese drummers, Gettin’ Higher Choir, Stages Performing Arts School, Mainly Magic, World-Beat DJ, and youth performers Power of Hope. Free finger food, prepared by the International Women’s Catering Co-op, will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
