OTTAWA – CUPE’s national committees gathered in Ottawa for four days last week to tackle the ongoing work of the national union

The plenary session identified areas where committees could work together, broadening our base in communities, highlighting the importance of political action and raising awareness of the strategic priorities.

All of you – staff advisers, co-chairs, national executive board liaisons – do tremendous work for our union,” said National President Paul Moist. “We recognize and appreciate the important contributions you make.”

Ottawa mayoralty hopeful Alex Munter chaired the plenary and Maude Barlow, national chairperson for the Council of Canadians, gave the keynote address.

This was CUPE national’s second all-committees meeting.
