ST. JOHN’S – If you’re one of the thousands of families in Newfoundland and Labrador that are struggling to find quality, affordable child care, you’ll be interested in attending one of three public forums being hosted by CUPE during the provincial election campaign.

The forums are designed to give candidates an opportunity to discuss what an early childhood education and care (ECEC) strategy could and should be for our province.

The forums will take place as follows:

  • Corner Brook – Saturday, September 24 at the Elk’s Lodge, Carmen Avenue at 10:00 a.m.

  • St. John’s - Sunday, September 25 at the Battery Hotel, at 2:00 p.m.

  • Marystown – Tuesday, September 27 at the Marystown Hotel, 7:30 p.m.

Families with children under 13 will be particularly interested in attending these events.

Child Care expert Martha Friendly will be on hand at all three forums. NLFL President Lana Payne will also speak at the St. John’s forum and parenting columnist Dara Squires will speak in Corner Brook.
