Winnipeg CUPE Manitoba will be turning over $10,000.00 for Kids with Cancer tomorrow. The funds have been raised over the last year from CUPE members from across the province.

Some of the money will go towards paying for a Portable Stair Climber at CancerCare, expected to cost about $6,500.

Coordinating the fundraising effort for the union, are Darlene Gagnon and Elaine Wiebe, CUPE members (Local 4242) working at the Brandon Regional Health Authority. Over the last 10 years, CUPE members have raised over $60,000 for CancerCare.

It really wasnt hard raising these funds for Pediatric Oncology, said Paul Moist, President of CUPE Manitoba. Whenever there was an event or a meeting, Darlene was there and the members just opened up their wallets with their hearts.
