AURORA, ON - The Town of Aurora outside workers, members of CUPE 905, have reached a tentative agreement with the Town avoiding strike action.

Details of the agreement will be released when the agreement is ratified within the week. The key issue had been compensation equity with other similar workers in York Region municipalities.

“We’ve moved in a positive direction,” said Steven Scott, Unit chair for CUPE Local 905. “The Town heard our concerns and was able to work with us to come up with an agreement we’re looking forward to bringing back to our members.”

The employees are responsible for maintenance and operations of town infrastructure and facilities, including roads, parks, town buildings and community recreation complexes.
