On Wednesday night, a tentative agreement was reached between the Société de transport de Montréal and CUPE 1983, representing 4500 members, bus drivers, adapted transit drivers, metro operators, change agents and attendants at the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) service centre.

Their collective agreement expired on January 7, 2018. Last May, union members voted in favour of pressure tactics up to and including strike action.

This agreement must now be ratified at a general meeting by members of the union in the near future.

Details of the agreement will be made public when the new collective agreement is officially signed.
