We are CUPE Local 66 members who work in Parking Enforcement and Animal Services at the City of Mississauga work As Parking Enforcement, we work to help keep streets safe and orderly. As Animal Services workers, we help with the rescuing of pets and wildlife, make sure bylaws are being upheld, and respond to animal-related emergencies.
Despite being unionized city employees, Parking Enforcement workers make less than other unionized city staff.
Animal Services workers who are mainly women, also receive lower wages compared to other similar work.
We are currently in bargaining negotiations with our employer, and recently voted in favour of a strike.
We need your help as we fight for fair wages. Please take a moment to send a letter and tell Mississauga City Council to negotiate a fair agreement for Local 66 members and avoid a strike.
