CUPE members in B.C. and across Canada remember and honour John Horgan, a leader who stood by working people every step of the way.

As Premier of British Columbia, he and his diverse team at the B.C. NDP fought tirelessly for affordable public services, worker rights, a fairer economy, and a sustainable future. He was seen as one of the most popular politicians across the country and he was dedicated to keep lifting everyone up — from health care and education workers to front-line municipal workers. He will be remembered for his deep commitment to making life better for all British Columbians.

John Horgan brought empathy, humour, and resilience to his work, never hesitating to make time to talk with CUPE members. He truly believed in the power of unions, and we are grateful for his contributions and his understanding of what it means to stand up for working people. He led with a vision grounded in the belief that we all benefit when everyone is supported. He is leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.
