The Research, Job Evaluation and Health & Safety Branch is the largest branch within CUPE’s National Services Department. Research staff support members by providing bargaining information, analyzing current issues, monitoring legislative changes, preparing submissions to government, conducting surveys, preparing fact sheets, and working with academics and coalition partners to promote and defend public services. Job Evaluation staff work to achieve fair and equitable wages for all members by working with locals to negotiate, implement and maintain pay equity, job evaluation and reclassifications. Health and Safety staff provide support, tools, resources, and training to help members in all sectors stay healthy and safe and to encourage activism. Staff from the Branch also assist with National Committees and with CUPE conventions and conferences.
