Five hundred CUPE members from across the country are descending on Ottawa this week for CUPE’s 11th National Health and Safety Conference. The event runs October 12 to 14 at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
Attendees will come together to share ideas and experiences, and highlight the valuable work done by CUPE to keep workers, and our communities healthy and safe.
Through a series of discussions, presentations, and workshops, conference organizers are looking to empower attendees with the knowledge that, despite the challenges we face in the workplace and on the political front, with the right attitude and the right tools, we can make a difference.
The theme for the conference, Defending our workplace, our environment, our health emphasizes the local aspect of our work, but also ties in the broader implications with the community, the environment, and the people that make it all happen.
