TORONTO Picket lines came down at the Toronto-Dominion Centre today following a weekend agreement between Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2295 and Hurley Corporation.
The workers, who clean two towers and the food court in the Toronto-Dominion Centre, had been on strike for almost six weeks. A return-to-work protocol is being worked out with the employer today.
A benefit showing of the Ken Loach film, Bread and Roses, will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 25 at the Steelworkers’ Hall, 25 Cecil Street. All proceeds will go to the Local 2295 Strike Fund. Admission is pay-what-you-can.
