CUPE members with the Institut national de santé publique du Québec, INSPQ, and the Laboratoire de santé publique du Québec, LSPQ, represented by CUPE 4671 (technologists), CUPE 5059 (administrative personnel) and CUPE 2667 (laboratory staff), have just signed their new contract.
Negotiations began in July 2022 on the agreements which run until March 31, 2026. They call for wage increases totalling between 12.3% and 14.3% for the period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2026, lump sums for 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 and a 2% salary increase for employees who reached the top of a 12-step salary scale more than one year ago.
Other gains include a harmonization of several premiums with those paid in the health care system, a new 10% premium for time worked in a level 3 confinement zone in laboratories and a compressed schedule where employees can work their 5-day week over 4 or 4½ days instead.
Several employees with at least 10 years of service have been granted tenure and will have more flexibility as to when they take their vacation or bereavement leave.
