Members of the CUPE National Executive Board have voted to support Larry Rousseau in his bid for re-election as CLC Executive Vice-President.
“Larry is a lifelong labour activist, and a steadfast supporter of workers across Canada. We are proud to support him for the position of CLC Executive Vice-President,” said CUPE National President Mark Hancock.
“Larry’s understanding of issues like health and safety, human rights and equity is a strong asset to the labour movement. We welcome his continued leadership as an officer of the CLC,” said CUPE National Secretary-Treasurer Charles Fleury.
CUPE has previously endorsed members of Team Unite, Bea Bruske, Lily Chang and Siobhan Vipond to stand for election for the three other officer positions. The elections will take place at the 29th Constitutional Convention of the CLC on June 16-18.
