You and your members can make a difference in the fight to protect public water services and make sure everyone has access to clean water.
To mark World Water Day, our union education department has just launched a one-hour water action workshop.
It’s an easy way to find out what we can do to fight privatization in our communities, and as part of the movement for safe drinking water for all Indigenous communities.
Host a conversation at a lunch break, or at a special meeting – it’s up to you. Download the materials, and share your workshop feedback.
This year we are re-launching a joint campaign with the Council of Canadians called the Blue Communities project. Together, we’re encouraging municipalities and Indigenous communities to pass resolutions that:
- Recognize the human right to water and sanitation
- End the sale and distribution of bottled water
- Reject water and wastewater privatization
