There is a crisis in Ontario public education.
Underfunding and understaffing plague the TCDSB. Everyday our schools are short-staffed, students’ needs are going unmet, and incidents of violence have skyrocketed. Many CUPE 1328 education workers have experienced extreme cases of physical violence and harassment at the workplace, leading to physical harm and extended periods of leave.
Our students’ learning environments are frequently disrupted by violent incidents, sometimes on a daily basis, which has created an environment that is far from conducive to providing the highest quality of education.
Education workers across the TCDSB are at a breaking point. Students deserve better and our education workers deserve better.
