The bargaining team representing patient attendants (PAB) and health and social service auxiliaries (ASSS) affiliated with CUPE and SQEES-298 has announced a major tentative agreement on permanent full-time staffing all across the province.

“We have managed to negotiate an agreement that meets the needs of our members, patients and the government. It ensures the stability sought in our system with a long-term perspective. That was a central issue in negotiations. We must now present the agreement to our entire membership,” said CUPE negotiator Karine Cabana.

The details of this tentative agreement will be made public following voting at general meetings to ratify the agreement between the parties.

“There is still work to be done at the bargaining tables to renew the collective agreement. Our organizations are willing to devote all of their energies to arrive at a satisfactory agreement quickly, as we did for the full-time staffing of the patient attendant and health and social service auxiliary positions,” said Jennifer Genest, the negotiator for the SQEES-298.
