Steward Learning Series Workshop

February 1 - 2, 2020 | CUPE Atlantic Regional Office, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia | English
Before you start the Steward Learning series, you must complete the Introduction to Stewarding (9 hour) workshop. After that, you can start taking modules in the Steward Learning Series. All the modules are 3 hours. Please remember to bring your Stewarding handbook and Steward Learning passport.

Introduction to Stewarding

What does a CUPE steward do? If you are a new steward and want to learn how to help CUPE members solve workplace problems, this introductory workshop is for you!
In this workshop, you will learn:
• investigating workplace problems;
• filing a grievance;
• meeting with management;
• dealing with workplace complaints.

NOTE: Participants should bring a copy of their collective agreement to the workshop.

LET – Local Executive Training

February 22 - 23, 2020 | CUPE Atlantic Regional Office, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia | English
Essentials for Inclusive Union (6hrs) and Leading as a Team (3hrs) In this workshop we will explore why members are not more involved and explore the power and responsibility that comes with being on a local executive.
