The tentative agreement includes coverage for vision care for all employees as well as Employee and Family Assistance Program coverage expanded to include non-permanent employees. The wage offer from the employer remains the same, with a Memorandum of Understanding on market supplements to adjust wages for hard to recruit classifications. In addition, the pay bands will be adjusted to bring the lowest paid workers above minimum wage.
The tentative agreement will be taken to the membership for a vote on whether or not to accept the offer. The vote will take place on Friday, September 29.
“The bargaining committee has worked hard to make gains at the table. Moving forward, the next steps are in the hands of our membership,” said Mira Lewis, CUPE representative.
The union commenced job action on August 10, with a full withdrawal of services starting on September 11. The full withdrawal of services has impacted service levels at City Hall, EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts, Frank Dunn Pool, Alfred Jenkins Field House, and the Art Hauser Centre.
