CLC Secretary-Treasurer Hassan Yussuff urged delegates to be politically active 365 days a year – not just during elections.
“Health care, employment insurance, wage equity, the need for anti-scab legislation and pension plan protection are at the heart of the labour movement’s priorities. Political action and union action are two sides of the same coin,” Yussuff said.
Referring to the current federal government, Yussuff said, “The surest way to ensure the Liberals keep their promises is to make sure they remain a minority.”
