A group of Ottawa women planned to set up a telephone and email hotline on women’s equality. However due to a lack of funding, the group has decided to appropriate the phone number for Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s office.

The ad-hoc group is also setting up a mobile booth to advertise the hotline which will allow people concerned about women’s equality to record or video their messages to the prime minister.

The Ottawa-based group encourages women in other communities to set up similar “hotlines” in their communities so that women can make their concerns known as part of the December 10th campaign.
