Wadena: Striking education workers in the Wadena School Division are pleased the division board has finally agreed to return to the bargaining table, stating it wants to settle the protracted dispute.

Provincial conciliator Doug Forseth arranged for contract talks to resume tomorrow in Wadena. The two sides have not met since the spring.

School support workers in the division began rotating job action on April 9 and moved to a full-scale strike on August 25.

After 68 days on the picket line, its good to hear the employer say it wants to conclude a collective agreement, says CUPE 3078 president Donna Zarowny. If the employer removes its demands for concessions and bargains in good faith, we are confident a fair and just agreement can be reached.
