Saskatoon: Striking school support workers in the Wadena School Division will be in Saskatoon today, protesting the role of the Saskatchewan School Trustees Association in their bitter contract dispute. The demonstration coincides with the start of the SSTAs annual convention in the city.

The protest will take place outside the Centennial Auditorium from 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m.

The school support workers teacher associates, secretaries, caretakers, library assistants and technicians have been trying to achieve a fair settlement with the school division for nearly three years.

The employers bargaining team led by SSTA negotiator Bill Wells - is demanding a long list of concessions.

The education workers members of CUPE 3078 began rotating job action on April 9 and moved to a full-scale strike since August 25.

Schools in the communities of Kelvington, Wadena, Rose Valley, Archerwill, Lintlaw, Quill Lake and the Quill Lake Hutterite Colony are affected by the lengthy contract dispute.
