Vote for positive change on October 6, says CUPE Ontario—Ontarians deserve better, so let’s vote better – let’s vote NDP, says Fred Hahn.

Voting for the New Democratic Party on October 6 is the best way to build a better and more inclusive province, says CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn.

We know that positive change only happens when people vote for what they really want,” Hahn said at a media conference in St. Catharines today. “And most Ontarians really want a government that brings fairness to the economy and builds quality public services that strengthen our communities.”

The NDP is hitting all the right notes, said Hahn. He noted that the NDP under leader Andrea Horwath is the only party promising to reverse unfair corporate tax giveaways.  He added that the NDP is a lone voice promoting “Buy Ontario” policies that would spur much-needed local and long-term economic growth.

On health care, Hahn noted that only the NDP has promised to expand Ontario’s public health care system by investing in more public long-term care beds and by building an urgently needed public home care system.

Both the Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty and the Progressive Conservatives under leader Tim Hudak support letting private companies make profits off the backs of senior citizens and people with disabilities in both long-term care and home care,” Hahn said. “Ontarians deserve better, so let’s vote better – let’s vote NDP.”

Hahn was joined today by Cindy Forster, NDP candidate for Welland, underscoring CUPE Ontario’s commitment to supporting the NDP on October 6.

CUPE Ontario is proud to encourage its members and all Ontarians to support the NDP in the October 6 provincial election,” Hahn said. “In Welland, this means supporting Cindy Forster.”
