Four months into a bitter strike with Vido0074ron in Qub0065c, CUPE is considering alternate means of applying pressure on the employer, including asking workers pension funds to remove their support for the parent company, Quebecor.

In a news conference in Montra006c this week, National Secretary-Treasurer Claude Gnreux said CUPE has already talked with pension fund managers representing the Ontario teachers pension fund, which has invested heavily in the company.

Workers are tired of seeing their pension funds used against them, said Gnreux. If we do something it will have huge consequences.

Gnreux said Quebecor President Pierre-Karl Pl0061deau will face an even larger debt problem if he continues to refuse to negotiate a fair deal.

If its necessary that we direct our pension funds to withdraw their investments in Quebecor, well do it, he said.
