(Lindsay) Inside workers with the County of Victoria have voted 72% in favour of strike action, to back their unions position in contract talks. The vote was conducted last night (June 27).

The 145 members of CUPE Local 855.09 work as clerical and administrative staff, landfill workers and social services workers for the County.

The only outstanding issue in the dispute is wages. The County inside workers are looking for a wage increase comparable to what other municipal workers in the area have been receiving.

The union has asked for a No Board report from the Ministry of Labour, which means both sides will now proceed to mediation, likely some time in July.
