TORONTO CUPE Ontario and the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions will lead a march of unionists tomorrow in protest against public-private partnerships in health care and other sectors.

Delegates to the Ontario Federation of Labour convention, including the Ontario Public Service Employees Union and Service Employees International Union, will march to the Toronto Hilton where the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships is holding its annual meeting. CUPE, OPSEU and SEIU joined forces in late summer in an effort to win a court injunction against construction of P3 hospitals in Brampton and Ottawa.

Despite their promises, the Liberal provincial government is going ahead with these P3s in an only slightly modified form, says CUPE Ontario President Sid Ryan. P3s are a bad deal for taxpayers and for public sector workers whether theyre in hospitals, schools, municipal services, or any other area.

The Ontario Health Coalition will also join in tomorrows demonstration which gets underway at 12 Noon at the Sheraton Centre.
