BURNABY—Toxic Free Canada has praised CUPE locals for their leadership towards “healthy, clean and green communities” and for raising money to support their work.  Kudos to CUPE locals 15, 339, 402, 561, 900, 1936, 2081, 2254, 3500, 3570 and Okanagan Mainline District Council and Vancouver Island District Council who contributed funds – and to CUPE BC, for matching funds.

You can always count on CUPE members to stand up and support organizations that make our communities better places to live,” says Environment committee chair, Bev LaPointe.

Donations go towards the Toxins-Free Schools initiative, getting toxins out of the workplace, and developing a new edition of the CancerSmart Consumer Guide.  Please make your cheque payable to Toxic Free Canada and mail it to 1203 – 207 West Hastings Street, Vancouver B.C.  V6B 1H7.  Don’t forget to send CUPE BC a photocopy so that your donation will be matched.  CUPE BC will contribute up to $5,000 in matching funds.
