WINDSOR, NS – The Town of Windsor and CUPE 1089 are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement on a five-year collective agreement which runs through to March 31, 2020. Town Council and CUPE 1089 have both ratified the agreement.

Local 1089 President Yogi Harvey says, “Our members are pleased with the agreement and see it as the town showing its appreciation for the hard work that we do for residents.”

Harvey says, “Wage increases took the form of negotiated base wage adjustments and percentage increases over the five years of the contract. We’re also pleased to have longtime, seasonal employees now recognized as full time as well as a commitment on training to make the workforce even better.”

Windsor Mayor Paul Beazley says, “We are pleased to have a new pay class system that is good for the Town of Windsor but also just and fair to our employees.”

“This five-year agreement will provide continued stability in labour relations and allow for learning and advancement opportunities for our CUPE Local 1089 employees,” he says.
